Trade in its beginnings
How did social media come into our lives? Let’s go from the beginning, where trade became a fundamental part of human beings as it allowed a great exchange of goods, products, and services. To do this, people offered their products in exchange for others that supplied their needs day to day. As time went by, different elements that facilitated trade were discovered, which acquired different values and allowed barter in large quantities.
The arrival of industrialization generated many other business opportunities, creating what would later be called “big companies”, an extension that was often international, creating certain difficulties as sometimes it was necessary to move long distances to reach these businesses.
Diverse circumstances, technological improvements, and the invention of the internet changed this. This large network allowed a faster and more effective connection between people who were thousands of kilometers away by breaking down physical barriers and permitted a large part of the population around the world access to mass communication systems. In these way, different platforms in charge of disseminating information such as encyclopedias and news, as well as multimedia and entertainment portals: music, videos, and images, were created. And, as if that was not enough, it promoted a new way of doing business by enhancing the speed at which business was carried out.
Ease of communication enhanced relationships, created a globalization of information, made possible to learn new languages from the other site of the world without having to be there, and promoted the creation of different businesses based on the demands that began to turn up with such great growth. Also, the internet allowed to improve and adapt itself to the daily needs becoming almost indispensable today to establish communications and keep commerce.
Little by little different platforms that worked as virtual stores appeared: those that sold their own products and the ones that functioned as intermediaries between the vendor and the client (Amazon, for example). On these pages vendors published their products and the means of contact to offer the user the best possible attention. Afterwards, they prepared to dispatch each order by a shipping company to the address indicated by the customer.
New form of trade
And even so, it was not enough. Social media has finished taking the definite step towards what is currently a new way of communication, commercialization and acquisition of goods and services. With the emergence of social media, these connections improved and the chances of finding what was sought without leaving home increased. People began to make use of personal accounts on various social platforms producing a growth in these networks and their massification. It also allowed each network to be updated to the daily needs of people and established itself as a small “all-in-one” where, over time, the purchase and sale of the products and services would prevail. Besides, users of social platforms were able to offer their products in an easier way by establishing a daily, common, and frequent use among people.
Both new and old businesses needed a good boost to stay in operation, and in this XXI century that impulse was thanks to social media, that became an indispensable resource.
Taking total advantage of what these platforms can offer is one of the most functional ways that currently exists to prosper in the world of purchase and sale.
